Grab The New Dragon Lord Archetype For Free As Dungeons And Dragons Online Turns 18

The Dragon Lord has arrived in Dungeons and Dragons Online as the long-running free-to-play MMORPG celebrates its 18th birthday.

As part of the birthday celebrations, Standing Stone Games is giving away the new archetype for free until March 26 while VIP subscribers will get permanent access to it even after the promotional event ends. Note that both free players and VIP subscribers will need to talk to Xatheral in the Eberron Hall of Heroes to claim the free archetype.

“Based on the Dragon Lord prestige class from 3.5e's Dragon Magic book, the Dragon Lord is a Fighter archetype that models their tactics after the ferocity of dragons to demoralize and subdue their enemies. They excel in crowd control, defense, and Draconic power.”

Meanwhile, the annual Anniversary Event is now underway and will run until March 12 with last year’s Dark Armor cosmetic now included in the list of anniversary rewards. Some adjustments have also been made to the anniversary quest to reflect last year’s event along with hints to future events.

The anniversary update also overhauled the Epic Destiny system, reworked active tumbling, improved tavern options, and introduced an early version of ranged area-of-effect attacks, which sounds interesting but seems a tad bit overpowered.

“When a projectile using an area of effect ranged attack collides with something, instead of dealing your weapon damage and effects to that target directly, that enemy and all nearby enemies in a small area are hit with your full weapon damage and effects, as if they were also hit by the projectile,” Standing Stone explained.
