Dota 2 Patch 6.85 Now Live
Valve released a massive new update for Dota 2 toady (September 24, 2015) which includes changes to nearly every hero. Besides in-game tweaks, the latest patch also addresses some of the UI issues with the new Reborn client. Bug fixes, network issues, and map tweaks were also included. Patch 6.85 is the first major update since April 27, 2015 and should help mix up the established meta which many argue has grown stale since last month's world championship event in Seattle.
Dota 2 is consistently the most popular game on Steam, Valve's digital distribution platform. Overall, it is the second most popular game in the MOBA genre following League of Legends by Tencent owned studio Riot Games. Dota 2 is also the first game powered by Valve's Source 2 engine which offers better optimization and support for DirectX 11.
The International 5 tournament and the new Reborn client have led to an increase in interest for Dota 2 among gamers. If you're a League of Legends player interested in Dota, stats site DotaBuff wrote a short intro specifically for LoL fans.
