With Diablo 4’s highly-awaited launch looming on the horizon, Blizzard recently hosted a developer livestream where they revealed their post-launch plans for the online ARPG which will include a seasonal update model, battle pass, unlockable cosmetics, and more.

Like previous Diablo games, Diablo 4 will be structured around quarterly Seasons, the first of which will be kicking off in mid to late July. Each season will introduce new questlines and features, as well as a plethora of new in-game items and goodies for players to earn. According to the developers, Seasons will bring “fresh concepts and ideas into the world of Sanctuary,” so we can expect plenty of surprises along the way.

To participate in a Season, you’ll need to finish the campaign first. Don’t worry though, you’ll have plenty of time to reach the endgame before the first season begins. Once you’re ready to dive into the Season Journey, you’ll have access to a Battle Pass with 27 free tiers and 63 premium tiers. The free tiers will get you some cool cosmetics and Smoldering Ashes, which you can spend on Seasonal Blessings to give yourself an edge during the current season.

For those who want even more rewards and don’t mind throwing cash into the game, there will be two Premium Battle Pass levels to choose from, both of which will include an additional 63 levels of unlockable goodies. The regular Premium Battle Pass will set you back $9.99 or 1,000 Platinum, while the Accelerated Premium Battle Pass will be a bit pricier at 2,800 Platinum or $24.99 a month. The latter will include 20 tier skips, an emote, and an allotment of Platinum to spend in the cash shop.

Speaking of the cash shop, you’ll find plenty of class-specific cosmetics there, as well as other items that rotate on a regular basis. And thanks to a nifty algorithm, the shop will learn your preferences and start recommending items that are right up your alley.

All in all, it sounds like Diablo 4 is shaping up to be a game that will keep us entertained for a long time to come. So get ready to embark on your Season Journey and start raking in those rewards!

But before that, you’d probably want to start psyching yourself up for the Server Slam final beta event this weekend. The game itself is set to launch on June 6th.
