Diablo 4’s Dev Team Outlines Balance Changes Coming In Season Of Blood
We’re now just a week away from the start of a new season in Diablo 4 which means that we’re going to be seeing and hearing a lot about it over the next few days. The aptly named Season of Blood will feature new vampire-themed content including a new questline that will pit players against ravenous vampires and give them access to new vampiric powers.
The new season will also come with another sweeping balance pass that promises further tweaks to classes, items, damage, and resistances. Don’t worry, most of the class adjustments will primarily be buffs. On the flip side, critical strike, overpower, and vulnerable damage will get individual multiplier caps to encourage players to specialize in one damage type before they branch out to other forms of damage. Monster damage will also be tweaked in line with the new damage caps.
Furthermore, resistances will become stackable up to 70%, although they can be increased up to a maximum of 85% with the right combination of gear, elixirs, and paragon unlocks.
On the subject of gear, unique items will be updated to offer unique stats that won’t be available anywhere else in the game. Existing uniques will also be adjusted to account for the changes, some of which will be obtainable by farming the new endgame bosses.
The Diablo 4 dev team talks about the said changes in the latest Campfire Chat episode below. There’s also a summary over at Wowhead if you’d rather not sit through the entire video.
Season of Blood begins on October 18th alongside Diablo 4’s Steam launch.
