Diablo 4 Players Are Up In Arms Over Crazy Expensive Class-Locked Portal Colors

Of all the things that Blizzard can charge for in Diablo 4, it decided to go with class-specific portal colors and is asking players $30 for it. The pretty new portals are being sold as part of the Dark Pathways pack which also includes 1,000 Platinum. The Platinum by itself will set you back $9.99, which means that you’ll essentially be paying $20 for five portal colors.

As you can probably expect, players aren’t happy with the fact that Blizzard is charging as much as a full game for something as arbitrary as portal colors, most of whom have taken to the Diablo 4 subreddit to voice their frustration.

“I wouldn’t necessarily mind paying $5 or something for it,” wrote WhiteVoltage. “But $30 for a portal that I might get two classes’ worth of use out of? Hell no. Hay-ell no.”

“The fact that they’re CLASS LOCKED is hilarious to me lmfao,” another Reddit user chimed in. Keep in mind that the colors are purely cosmetic and won’t affect gameplay in any way.

This isn’t the first time that Blizzard landed in hot water over paid content. Players were up in arms just last week over Lunar New Year event rewards that were locked behind a paywall. There was also Season 1’s extremely stingy battle pass. After the backlash from this latest fiasco, Blizzard will probably be thinking twice before slapping cosmetics with an overly inflated price tag.
