Diablo 4 Officially Launched With Minimal Queues But Widespread Server Issues

After 11 years, Diablo fans can now embark on a brand-new journey with Diablo 4 officially opening the gates to Sanctuary and Hell as of last night. The latest addition to the iconic franchise is now live across all regions and on all editions, promising a more MMO-like experience compared to previous titles in the series.

However, despite Blizzardâs assurance that they were prepared to handle the flood of players posed to descend on the highly awaited game, the servers apparently werenât quite up to the task. While queues were surprisingly non-existent in some regions, there have been numerous reports of server outages and players being unceremoniously booted from the game and being unable to log back in.
That being said, Diablo 4âs global launch looks to be one of the smoothest major launches weâve seen in a while. Keep your fingers crossed though, as Murphyâs Law is bound to rear its ugly head sooner or later.
Meanwhile, Blizzard has confirmed that itâs already working on two expansions for the game. âAs I sit here weâre about to launch the main game, weâre finishing up season one, weâre working on season two, weâre working on expansion one, weâre kicking off expansion two,â touted Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson.
Season 1 is scheduled to begin sometime in July and will run for three months before Season 2 arrives.
