Diablo 4 Will Be Sending Out Invites To Its Closed Endgame Beta Soon

When developers release demos or limited beta tests, they usually make you play through the game’s prologue or tutorial and maybe even the first chapter or two. Blizzard, however, is doing the exact opposite for its first-ever Diablo 4 closed beta test. Instead of restricting content to the beginning of the game’s narrative, they’ll only be allowing you to test the endgame.
“We have decided to focus the Closed Beta on Diablo IV’s end-game offerings for a few reasons,” Blizzard explained. “The full story of Lilith’s return to Sanctuary is not something we would like to spoil prior to release—players will experience a post-campaign Sanctuary during the Closed End Game Beta. Also, for many, the end game is their favorite aspect of Diablo—we want to ensure it feels satisfying, and with no shortage of challenging variety to experience across many, many demon-slaying gaming sessions.”
If you’ve been playing a lot of Diablo, then you probably have a good chance of getting invited to the party. According to Blizzard, they’ll be selecting participants from Battle.net accounts that have spent a significant amount of time grinding through the endgame experiences of Diablo 3, Diablo 2: Ressurected, and Diablo Immortal. Selected participants will be required to sign and NDA so they’ll be forced to keep the experience to themselves… or not.
The beta test will focus on five endgame-related systems, namely: a Nightmare difficulty region-wide event called Helltide, progressively-challenging Nightmare Dungeons, Whispers of the Dead rotating quests, the Fields of Hatred PvP game modes, and the new Paragon Boards progression system.
There’s still no definite schedule for the endgame beta test although it seems like it’s set for the last half of November. The rest of Diablo 4’s eager fanbase will have to wait until early next year to test out the game.
