Destiny 2 Prepares to Launch Free Trial, XP Woes Still Unresolved

We're not out of the woods yet, when it comes to Destiny 2's XP obfuscation. Earlier, we covered how Destiny 2 was slowing XP gains the faster you gained it, with this information being revealed by Reddit user /u/EnergiserX.
Bungie of course confirmed it was true, and proceeded to normalize gains across the board. Then, they proceeded to make it so that it took 160K XP to level, up from 80K XP - effectively buffing public events by 6% to normalize gains, then nerfing all gains by 50% by way of doubling the amount of XP it takes to level.
If I had the Picard Facepalm picture available to me right now, this is the part where I would insert it into this article.
More testing comes from the Destiny subreddit, this time by way of /u/Aercus. To make matters worse, Bungie has only announced that the XP needed to level has been doubled after the community has tested, and found out, that Bungie stealth-nerfed leveling.
The Destiny 2 API has yet to be adjusted to reflect the recent in game change to earned XP. We are working on an API update to address the discrepancy. The correct value to earn an additional level is 160,000 XP.

But hey, a Free Trial is launching tomorrow, November 28th, for all prospective buyers try Destiny 2 out before they make up their minds. Though, after seeing Bungie's lack of transparency on their game - I'd say skip it.
