Sumo Digital Announces Lethal Free-Running Multiplayer Game DeathSprint 66

British video game developer Sumo Digital has officially unveiled DeathSprint 66, a competitive multiplayer title that combines the fast-paced action of kart racing games with high-flying parkour moves, all rolled into a lethal game show in a dystopian future. Think Mad Max, if you were free-running and jumping around on foot instead of driving cars.
Players will race through the abandoned cities of 2066 grabbing and using Mario Kart-inspired powerups along the way to gain an advantage or keep the race leaders in check. The family-friendly turtle shells and sparkly stars, however, have been replaced with deadlier and bloodier counterparts like the seekersaw and buzzsaw.
“The Running Man meets Mario Kart in Sumo’s lethal game show,” reads the cover of Edge Magazine #395 which features a DeathSprint 66 exclusive. The upcoming game will also be making its global premiere at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase on March 21.
The game itself will be launching exclusively on PC and potentially on consoles at some point in the future. There’s no word on a launch window yet, but we’re expecting more information during next month’s showcase.
