Dr. Disrespect’s new studio, Midnight Society, has officially put a name to their upcoming multiplayer vertical extraction shooter codenamed Project Moon. The game, now officially known as Deadrop, is set in the year 2020.b where competing factions fight over resources and control of the towers that produce them.

“40 years into the Climate Wars, population and pollution levels skyrocket. Cities erect massive REFINER STATES - mega structures built to extract toxins from the stratosphere. These towers are self-governed “city-states” with only one export - SPACE DUST. A concentrate from the refined pollutants is bricked, cut, and sold to an addicted populous of the sprawling urban cities surrounding the structure.”

The towers, also known as the Refiner States, were once government-controlled facilities that are now controlled and operated by an occupying force called Cleaners with the Skins and Syns factions constantly trying to take control.

Midnight Society started selling a limited number of Series 0 Founder’s Access Passes for $50 a pop, all of which have unfortunately sold out. The pass includes access to all future Snapshots (beta builds) and a unique procedurally-generated NFT which will serve as the pass owner’s in-game avatar. More Series Passes are planned to be released in the future so stay tuned. You can also join the studio’s Discord to be notified when a new series comes out.

“The news of Dr Disrespect’s game studio set the world ablaze with anticipation, but we go beyond the hype,” wrote Midnight Society. “From Day Zero, Midnight Society has engaged our passionate community with a shooter ARG and have begun work on the next evolution in PVP gaming, built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. With the launch of Founders Passes, we gladly share our vision - and success -with those who seize the opportunity.”
