Dauntless Revamps Hunt Passes, Kicks Off New Season, & Adds New Weapon Rumors

Phoenix Labs has made significant changes to the Dauntless battle pass as the Return to Light update arrives on the live servers. The reworked Hunt Pass now gives players the chance to earn rewards at a faster pace now that the reward track has been condensed down to just 30 levels. They will still be permanently available with no expiration once they’re purchased.
The team has also added the new Slayer’s Commission hunt pass which features a free 100-level reward track and an option to purchase a premium track which comes with better rewards. This hunt pass, however, expires at the end of every season.
“The Slayer Commission is a new kind of Hunt Pass containing 100 levels of useful items like rams, merits, bounty tokens, aethersparks, and more. You’ll be able to earn 100% platinum back on your purchase by completing your pass! This pass expires, but returns at the start of every season.”
With the new hunt passes in place, Phoenix Labs says that they’ll be shifting their focus away from cosmetic rewards in favor of creating new monsters and game modes. This means that the April and May hunt passes will feature the last new cosmetic items to be added to the game for the foreseeable future. Classic rewards will be returning to both hunt passes over the next few months and the Vault will be removed come July 7th.
In addition to the new hunt passes, the Return to Light update also introduces two new Weapon Rumors for Slayers to chase down for the Sporestruck versions of Embermane and Charogg. The update also kicks off a new season with new story quests and challenges to complete along with several bug fixes and Behemoth balance tweaks.
A detailed rundown of what’s new can be found in the full patch notes on the Dauntless official site.
