Today, My.com begins taking over as the publisher of Warface in North America and Europe. But, surprisingly, that's not all that's going on with Crytek today. As Crytek no longer needs to have an in-house publishing team on staff for Warface, it is letting 15 more employees that were once part of the team go. The rest of the team is being moved to "new projects internally," albeit details about these projects were not revealed.

Crytek Co-Founder and Managing Director Avni Yerli had the following to say about the announcement.

Crytek has always sought to push the boundaries of gaming, and that remains our primary goal as we scale down the business to re-focus on game and technology development first and foremost. Unfortunately, one of the inevitable effects of this process has been the redundancies we are announcing today. We are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication of each and every person at Crytek, and the team members we now have to say goodbye to will receive comprehensive support that reflect that gratitude. We will also be on hand to offer whatever support we can as they seek to find new positions elsewhere that reflect their considerable talents.

The news follows December's news that Crytek would be closing five studios and "[refocusing] on its core strengths of developing innovative games and game-development technology."
