CosmicBreak 2 Fails Kickstarter Campaign
After launching its Kickstarter campaign over a month ago, CosmicBreak 2 failed to hit its intended goal of $150,000 by its deadline of March 15th. In fact, it wasn't even close. CyberStep was pledged only $71,499, which was not even half of the required amount to get the game into development. Speculation suggests that this failure is due to the nature of the original CosmicBreak. Known for being a very cash heavy "pay-to-win" game, it would not be surprising if gamers were turned off by a possible similar style of monetization. The validity of this reason is uncertain, but in the end, all that matters is that CosmicBreak 2 was unable to hit its goal.
However, this is not the complete death of CosmicBreak 2, as the Japanese version will continue as planned. There is a closed beta planned from March 25th to 31st and then an official launch scheduled for summer of 2015.
