Conan Exiles Looks Back At 2018, Talks About Plans For 2019

conan exiles armoredConan Exiles developer Funcom continues the year-end tradition of almost every other company in the world of looking back at the past year and giving hints about what lies ahead in their latest newsletter, scantily-clad barbarians with Santa hats included.

It’s been a very eventful year for the sandbox survival MMORPG with a total of 70 patches released across all platforms: 30 for the PC, 21 for the Xbox, and 19 patches on the PlayStation 4. “We’ve also released 4 paid DLC packs with new armors, weapons, building pieces, placeables and pet skins,” says the devs. “Shoutout to our amazing art team who have been working tirelessly on making all of these amazing looking extras.”

As a brand new year comes around, Funcom says that they have more updates to roll out. “Come January 31st, the game will have been available for two years! We have several more updates and bug fixes to roll out, after all, including 4 more dungeons that we still haven’t revealed yet!” They’ll also be focusing on improving the core aspects of the game including the Purge, Thralls, AI, and fixing exploits.

Meanwhile, the devs will be releasing their last patch of the year this week. The patch will roll out building optimizations for the Testlive branch which should improve game loading times for building pieces. While we’re on the subject of lasts, Funcom’s last Conan Exiles newsletter of the year will also be their last as they move towards other mediums of communication.

“We feel like the newsletters have served their purpose well, but we have also started using other ways of providing the community with the same information: The Trello Board provides more transparency and insight.

Not to worry though! Even though the newsletters are going away that doesn’t mean we won’t stop communicating with you. We will keep you updated about the work we’re putting into Conan Exiles. News updates will be posted on the forums, on Steam, Reddit, and social media, when available, so keep your eyes posted to our official channels come 2019. We may also start doing monthly recaps, in case there’s been a lot going on.”

Also, you might’ve notice a change in your building decay times. The building decay timer has been temporarily increased to 14 days while the devs are away and will return to normal when they get back in January.
