Conan Exiles Goes On Sale For The First Time Since Launch

With RPG elements, a large budget, and an experienced studio behind it, Conan Exiles looked like it was going to be the next big thing in survival games. All of us here at MMOs.com jumped into the game on day one and sank dozens of hours into the game; we even hosted our own official server early on. The larger Steam community also took to it rather quickly and player numbers peaked at over 53,000 early on.

Unfortunately, the hype didn't last. The game turned out to be grindy and lacking in meaningful content. Performance issues bogged down the experiences of many and lag made the game nearly unplayable at launch if more than 20 players were on the server you were playing on at any one time. We had been optimistic, but our optimism quickly waned.

Despite waning interest in the game, in the time since launch, Funcom has been working hard to fix outstanding issues an introduce new content. A new dev blog highlights all of the updates that the company has introduced since the Early Access launch, including mods, a dyeing system, trebuchets, and a new dungeon called "The Dregs" that features deadly monsters and "tricky puzzles"

If that alone weren't enough to get your attention, Funcom has also put Conan Exiles on sale for the first time since launch. From now until April 14th, the standard edition is 20% off, bringing it down to $23.99, whereas the Barbarian Edition is only 10% off, bringing it down to $53.99. The difference in discount is significant because, regardless of how you pay for the game during the sale, you will be paying $23.99 for the base game and exactly $30 for the Barbarian Edition content.

If you haven't already, are you considering purchasing Conan Exiles during the sale?
