Citadel: Forged With Fire Overhauls Character Editor, PvP, And Early Game Mana In Tomorrow’s Patch

citadel: forged with fire mountain bgCitadel: Forged with Fire may have launched into Early Access with mostly negative reviews but that’s not stopping developer Blue Isle Studios from continuing development on the game. The dev team will be rolling out a massive patch tomorrow which will introduce a revamped and more in-depth customization system.

“The biggest addition to Citadel in this week’s patch is a huge upgrade of our Character Editor. As many players noted during our first year of Early Access, our character customization options were quite limited: Players were historically only able to modify two physical components (ie: head type and hairstyle). With this update we’ve upgraded this with a total of thirteen new customization options, all of which (aside from head and hair) can be precisely tweaked and modified with full slider support!”

Blue Isle assures players that any changes made to characters using the new editor will be purely cosmetic and will not affect game balance, especially in PvP. All characters will have the same hitboxes and jump height regardless of how big or small players make them.

That’s not to say that there won’t be any changes to PvP. Raid spells will be more difficult to craft and will have fewer charges which should slow down the frequency of raids in general. Along with increased resource availability and spawn rates, this should give to raided players a better chance of rebuilding in time for the next raid.

Players will also be notified of the attacking player’s name and any damage done to a structure will show up on the map. “Raiding in Citadel was always meant to encourage rivalries, but we never really gave players the tools necessary to develop those relationships,” said the studio. “Now, when any part of your claimed structure is damaged, you will not only be notified that if happen but be told who did it.”

The hefty update will also feature the return of the old weapon tree layout, a delete character button (finally), and early game changes in the form of improved mana management for new players.
