Bungie is reportedly working on several unannounced projects thanks to the additional support from Sony following the latter’s acquisition of the Destiny 2 developer last year. The news comes by way of a series of tweets from Senior Design Lead Tom Farnsworth inviting developers to join their team to work on the said projects.

“And with the support of Sony we are working on a number of unannounced projects too. Come join us!” tweeted the developer. He then followed up that tweet with numerous job posting for various unannounced titles.

While the Farnsworth failed to give any clue as to what those unannounced titles could be, there have been rumors that Bungie is looking to reboot the Marathon franchise as an extraction shooter similar to Escape from Tarkov. A job posting back in 2021 also suggests that the studio is working on what appears to be a new free-to-play live service game which seems to corroborate the Marathon rumors.

Bungie also filed for intellectual property rights for a project called Matter in 2018 in addition to job postings for an upcoming comedic game with “lighthearted and whimsical characters.”

The studio, however, assured Destiny fans that they won’t be abandoning the franchise and will continue to release content updates for the multiplayer first-person shooter well into the future. In fact, the team is currently gearing up for the release of Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion is still on track for release in February 2023 with the new Strand subclass in tow.
