Brightlocker Is Steam On Steroids

Heads up Steam! A new game distribution platform is coming to town. Brightlocker is a ground-breaking new platform that aims to bridge the gap between players, developers, and the gaming community in general by combining game distribution, development, funding, and streaming all into one. Kickstarter should probably keep an eye out on this one as well.

Brightlocker is the brainchild of a group of Austin-based industry veterans who have worked with leading game companies such as EA, Activision, BioWare, Sony Online Entertainment, and Blizzard Entertainment among others. The platform has been in Open Beta since April 2016 and was officially announced this morning.

Brightlocker’s current lineup of games include familiar titles such as: Fractured Space, Life is Feudal, and Descent Underground, with more titles on the way in the coming months. One unique feature of the platform is that anyone can pitch a game idea to Brightlocker. If they like your idea, they’ll develop the game themselves and give you your fair share of the earnings. In addition, users also get the chance to receive exclusive rewards and game items by simply giving feedback and participating in a game’s development.
