Bandai Namco has locked down a date for Blue Protocol’s launch in Japan, and it’s going to be sooner than you think. The highly-awaited online action RPG will officially be making its Japanese debut on June 14th. Unfortunately, the western version’s launch has now been moved from the second half of 2023 to sometime in 2024.

“Our planned release window is moving to 2024 as we work toward launching Blue Protocol in the West across PC, Xbox X|S, and PlayStation 5,” announced Amazon Game Studios. “With continued efforts to localize the deeply immersive stories and build the infrastructure needed to engage in multiplayer adventures and massive online raids against towering monsters, we’re working hard to ensure the best possible experience for our players at launch.”

Amazon says that its hard at work working on localizing the game and refining various components and features to ensure a seamless experience for western audiences. Importing a game to different regions while catering to multiple languages requires a strong foundation in localization, which necessitates additional time and resources.

In conjunction with this announcement, Amazon Games has revealed plans for a PC closed beta test, set to take place later this year. Players eager to get a taste of Blue Protocol before its official 2024 release can sign up for the closed beta for a chance to secure a spot in the upcoming playtest and get their hands on the game before everyone else.
