Blue Protocol Japanese Closed Beta Postponed Due To COVID-19 Virus

Over the past few weeks, various gaming and tech companies and event organizers have announced the cancellation of their events due to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. Today, we’re reporting on another game affected by the virus, Bandai Namco’s upcoming anime-themed MMORPG – Blue Protocol.

Bandai Namco has just announced that they’ll be delaying the Japanese closed beta until further notice. “The Blue Protocol operation team is working to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus infection and considering safety as the top priority,” says the studio. “Preparation and development are expected to be delayed. We will inform you about the situation again in late March.”

Meanwhile, E3 will still be moving forward as planned and so is next weekend’s SXSW Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas in spite of multiple states declaring a state of emergency due to the virus. Facebook, Microsoft, and Amazon have even instructed their employees to work from home in the meantime.
