Blue Archive Swings into New Baseball Themed Update "Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!"

Nexon has rolled out a fresh patch for its anime-style mobile and PC RPG Blue Archive, titled “Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!”. The update introduces two recruitable students, a limited-time story event, and a handful of item rewards designed to keep the gacha community busy through early September.
Blue Archive debuted in 2021 and mixes lighthearted slice-of-life storytelling with turn-based combat and character collection. Players step into the role of an advisor guiding various academies through everything from petty campus squabbles to city-wide crises. Regular content drops like this one are critical for live-service titles competing in an increasingly crowded mobile RPG space. It remains one of Nexon's most successful new IP mobile games.
Highlights of Update:
- Student banners: A limited recruitment pool boosts the odds of pulling Sumire (Part-Timer), who can mark a target with “Weakness Detection” for follow-up damage, and Rei, an area-of-effect striker. The banner runs until 8 September at 5:59 PM PT / 9 September at 1:59 AM UTC.
- Story event: “Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!” follows Sumire and Rei as they help the struggling Corgi Heroes baseball club chase its first win. Completing chapters yields event currency and Pyroxenes, with an extra five Secret Tech Note Fragments for clearing the EX stage.
- Event challenges: Time-gated stages unlock over the course of the event, each awarding 50 Pyroxenes on first clear.
The update is available now on Android, iOS, and Steam. Players have until early September to wrap up the baseball storyline before the next update and likely another banner. While Blue Archive is a mobile title, it does have a PC client. The game averages ~4,900 players on Steam.
