Blizzard Suspends World Of Warcraft Classic Players Caught Botting And Using Anti-AFK Programs

world of warcraft classic orc topknot bannerBotting or using third-party programs to automate actions in an MMORPG ruins the game for everyone else and has always been frowned upon by the gaming community. While some developers may be a bit lax with botters, Blizzard Entertainment is having none of it. According to a post on the official forums, the studio recently cracked down on a number of botters and anti-AFK users in World of Warcraft Classic.

“Yesterday, we issued numerous suspensions to WoW accounts that were found to be violating our Code of Conduct 52. Affected players were e-mailed with details about the violation and suspension – a great many of which were found to be using anti-AFK cheats or bots that automate movement, especially in Alterac Valley.”

The Code of Conduct clearly states that, “Cheating in any fashion will result in immediate action. Using third-party programs to automate any facet of the game, exploiting bugs, or engaging in any activity that grants an unfair advantage is considered cheating. Exploiting other players is an equally serious offense. Scamming, account sharing, win-trading, and anything else that may degrade the gaming experience for other players will receive harsh penalties.”

It’s too bad they were only suspended and not perma-banned. Help Blizzard weed out the cheaters from the game by reporting Code of Conduct violators using this form.
