Aeria Games has released community survey results regarding Bless Online's Korean Open Beta test. GM Larek revealed the results in a forum post on Bless-Source. The slideshow presentation reveals some interesting data, besides an overuse of the word "very" to describe the game's qualities:

  • More than 80% of players spent between 10 and 100 hours in the game; 41.7% claiming more than 100 hours.
  • There was a fairly even distribution between the game's 6 classes: Paladin was most chosen at 20.8% while Guardian was least chosen at 12.3%.
  • Dungeon matchmaking was "always empty/hard to find party:" implying the OBT playerbase was too small.
  • A whopping 83.2% felt the "[free-to-play] balance was good."

Some questions were too vague to draw meaningful conclusions, e.g. "The gameplay is very unique." And the people who respond to community surveys are typically passionate about the game, or 9-5 haters. The sample size was also too small: an average of 143 response per question.

But I applaud Aeria for conducting a survey at all and sharing the results. It's interesting to read player thoughts and get a general sense of what some players felt about the OBT.

The survey is designed to help refine Bless' experience for Korea, and for a Western release. Aeria Games will be publishing Bless in the West some time in the future.
