Black Desert Online Recaps The Past Year, More Than 3.4 Million Characters Created

A lot has happened in the year since Black Desert Online launched. Five new classes have been introduced. Five major expansions have gone live. Every class except the most recent one, the Dark Knight, has received its Awakening. More content has been introduced in the past year than many other MMOs see in the course of several years.

Given that, it's perhaps unsurprising that the game has done really well in its time online. Kakao Games Europe released an infographic unveiling a number of statistics about the game. It turns out that more than 3.4 million characters have been created—1,838,575 on the North American service and 1,570,171 on the European service. However, of those, only 90,053 on the North American service and 92,322 on the European service have made it to level 56 or higher.

The most popular classes on both services appear to be Ranger and Sorceress, with Kunoichi and Warrior ranking among the least popular, excluding Dark Knight, which was just released recently. On the North American service, 62% of all characters created are female, whereas 64% of all characters created on the European service are female. This is to be expected, however, as a large number of the game's classes are female.
