Black Desert Online To Merge Servers Into Megaservers On November 30th

Following closely behind the release of the Valkyrie's Awakening, Kakao Games Europe announced yesterday that the long-awaited "New World" update, or the introduction of megaservers, for Black Desert Online will be happening on November 30th. On that day, all of each region's servers will be merged into one megaserver for that region, each of which will contain a staggering 36 channels.
You're probably wondering what will happen to your characters, your storage items, and everything else you've earned in-game when the servers are merged. Kakao Games Europe has provided details about just about every contingency, stating, for example, that, should you have more than twelve characters that will be merged into one megaserver, none of your characters will be deleted, but only your twelve highest level characters would be playable. You would have to delete a character in order to play a lower level character. Furthermore, only nodes and investment from the megaserver's "main server" will be kept. The rest will be converted into Contribution Experience, but energy will not be refunded.
