BitCraft Shares Updates On Development Progress And Upcoming Closed Alpha Test

Clockwork Labs is slowly and surely gaining headway in the development of its social sandbox MMORPG, BitCraft. The studio’s latest dev blog talks up the progress it’s made and the challenges it faced as it prepares for closed alpha testing.
One of the major milestones that the studio achieved is getting the game to run on its in-house SpacetimeDB engine. According to the devs, getting the engine to actually run was easy, it was getting it to function at speed and scale that was the tricky part and took all of their available engineering and brain power combined.
They also confirmed that the empire-building system won’t make it to the closed alpha tests but will instead be added later as endgame content. Testers, however, can still look forward to plenty of new and improved settlement-related content starting from land claims to expanding modest structures into flourishing towns and villages.
Clockwork Labs has yet to announce a timeline for the closed alpha tests but they did confirm that it will no longer be covered by an NDA. Sign-ups are still open on the BitCraft official site if any of you are interested in taking it for an early spin.
