Bellatores is a new PvP sandbox MMORPG from South Korean development studio Nyou that promises an authentic medieval experience complete with knights, lords, castle sieges, and grim tales of factions and kingdoms at war. There will also be dragons and magic, because what’s more authentic than fireballs and dragons, right?

The game’s core mechanics will reportedly revolve around multi-faction wars with a tab-targetting system, mounts, hunting, gathering, crafting, a player-based economy, what seems to be a skill-based open class system, and a dynamic game world influenced by player actions.

“We aim to implement a dynamic game world that is responsive to the cumulative actions of the player. This will enable the player to experience the impact of their actions on the game environment and witness its transformation,” Nyou CEO Jung Hwan Kim revealed in an interview with Wccftech.

“For instance, repeatedly hunting a particular monster in a specific area will result in a decrease in its population, while the population of other monsters may increase due to the food chain. Consequently, the player’s actions will have a tangible impact on the game world and result in a unique experience for each player, even in the same area at different times,” Kim added.

Nyou is a mobile game developer best known for its tactical card battler RPG Dragon Chronicles and match-3 puzzle game Duel Summoners. The studio recently secured 30 billion Korean Won (roughly $25 million) to fund Bellatores’ development and is looking to launch the game in the second half of 2024.
