Astellia Royale Free-To-Play Spinoff Shutting Down Alongside Astellia In October

Astellia Royal, the free-to-play version of the soon-to-shutdown Astellia MMORPG, will unfortunately be following in the ill-fated footsteps of its predecessor. The service will be shutting down alongside Astellia on October 29, less than a year after the spinoff’s western launch back in March.

“Unfortunately, we have the decision to terminate Astellia Royal Steam service. We regretfully inform you that Astellia Royal NA/EU service will be closed on October 29th, 2021(Fri). We would like to thank you for playing Astellia Royal until now, and please find below for detailed schedule of steam service termination.”

The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise since the game’s playerbase hasn’t really picked up over the past few months, averaging at just around 30 players a day. The download button on Steam has also been missing for a while now which, I would say is a very big red flag.
