Apex Legends Starts A New Season With A New Map And The New Legend Ash

Escape to a massive tropical island as Apex Legends kicks off a new season alongside the release of the battle royale shooter’s latest update.

This season, aptly-named Escape, will take place on a brand new map called Storm Point, a tropical island paradise with sandy beaches, rocky towering cliffs, and new points of interest to explore. The new map is 15% bigger than World’s Edge and is the game’s biggest map to date.

Don’t expect a vacation though, as you’ll have to contend against giant spiders, hyper-aggressive Prowlers, and other players. Storm Point also features large gravity cannons that players can use to travel across large areas and reach otherwise inaccessible places on the island.

A new Legend has also made her debut this season. Meet Ash, the Incisive Instigator, a machete-wielding robot with the ability to ensnare enemies and teleport to targeted locations.

“Born in the unforgiving Frontier, Dr. Ashleigh Reid - still very much a human - learned early that the only person who was going to look out for her was herself. One day, she was hired by a mercenary group for a delicate job: steal an experimental fuel source being researched in the Outlands city of Olympus. It was the perfect job for Reid, who infiltrated and psychologically manipulated the researchers for years. When the lab self-destructed, she died.”
