Sandbox Interactive announced today that Albion Online's Final Beta will begin on August 1st, which is, somewhat ironically, the date that the company had previously stated the Beta would "at least" be extended to. In an effort to prepare for the Final Beta, the current Beta will end on July 18th. The team intends to "end the current Beta with a bang" by hosting a community event of some sort on July 17th, the day before the servers go offline.

The Final Beta will bring a host of major changes with it. The new world, featuring new continents and biomes, will finally be in-game and able to be explored. At the beginning of the Final Beta, the Mountain, Swamp, and Steppes biomes will be available. The Forest and Highlands biomes will be added during Final Beta. The changes being made to the Guild vs. Guild system—more details of which can be found in the video embedded below—will be going live at the beginning of the Final Beta, as well as the overhauls of the Crime and Reputation System and the Item System.
