Albion Online's Consumables And Potions Were Overhauled

albionfarm

In the latest Albion Online devlog, the developers detail the overhaul they've made to consumables and potions in order to "offer more variety and to make food and potion production an even more interesting pastime." To accomplish this, rare drops are no longer needed as ingredients for alchemy. All ingredients can now be grown in an herb garden. These ingredients can then be used in one of seven potions.

The new potions system contains only seven different types of potions. Each now gives "shorter but stronger" benefits. The seven possible effects are: a short heal over time, a short period of increased energy regeneration, a strong increase in defense, a slowing field around your player character, an reduction in spell cooldown times, and an instant removal of all negative effects. Similarly, foods now provide benefits specific to the type of food. Soups provide health regeneration, salads increase crafting speed and quality, pies increase maximum load and gathering speed, omelets reduce cooldowns and cast times, stews increase combat damage, and sandwiches increase maximum health.

With the Closed Beta less than two weeks away, are you excited to see how all of the changes work in practice?
