Albion Online Will Have Upgradable Islands

Sandbox Interactive announced today via press release that Albion Online will have upgradable islands. Deemed "Private Islands," the new player homes will be available in Closed Beta. They're a bit different than originally imagined, however, as community requests have brought the team to expand upon the idea.

Private Islands can be purchased in any major city. They are used as a "hideaway" where players can safely build, farm, and decorate. The number of plots on an island can be increased by purchasing more with Silver. Upgrading clears obstructions, expanding the area in which you can build in the process. Five levels are planned for these islands, each allowing their own unique customization options.

Players will also be able to hire NPCs called "Laborers" but no details were given on them just yet.
