Albion Online Reaches Over 270K Daily Active Players Following Last Week’s Mobile Launch

Albion Online has set a new daily active players record following the release of the fantasy MMORPG’s mobile version last week. According to developer Sandbox Interactive, player numbers have nearly doubled with over 270,000 active players logging in daily since the multi-platform game’s mobile launch.
“On June 9, 2021, Albion's mobile version went live worldwide on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The launch was the result of years of development and optimizations, and finally fulfilled the goal – set out in the game's very earliest stages of development – of offering a truly cross-platform sandbox MMORPG experience. After the game went live on the App and Play Stores, new and returning players flooded into the game, setting a staggering new record: 270,000 daily active players, nearly twice the previous peak.”
The previous peak was set back in March with the release of the Call to Arms update, which saw the game’s daily average population grow to over 140,000 players and its highest-ever viewership numbers on Twitch and YouTube.
So what’s next for the game? Sandbox Interactive says that they’re currently working on the next major content update which will be launching sometime later this year and will be focused on deepening and improving the massive fantasy-themed open world.
