Albion Online Previews New Caerleon Faction Coming In The Call To Arms Update

albion online caerleon faction bannerThe upcoming Albion Online Call to Arms update is all about revamping and improving the game’s faction warfare system. The upcoming update will introduce new faction-related systems and content, including the ability to control and defend entire regions, faction campaigns, new faction mounts, and a new faction called Caerleon. Game Director Robin Henkys previews the new faction in a new dev update video and blog.

“Since the fall of the Caerleon portal and the city’s resulting decline, Caerleon has become a nest of bandits, smugglers, rogues and mercenaries. Now the Council of Caerleon has decided to join the war between the cities and profit from the situation.”

The Caerleon faction features a unique playstyle that ties in quite nicely with the faction’s lore. As with all factions, Caerleon members will be able to attack other factions without losing reputation. But unlike other factions, they will also be able to attack one another.

Players fighting for Caerleon will also be able to capture outpost and regions as usual. The difference is that outposts and regions captured by Caerleon members will not generate value over time but can instead be plundered for huge profits that will not be shared with the rest of the faction. Caerleon players, however, will need to be careful about attracting too much attention and becoming too powerful lest other members of the faction decide to take the profits for themselves.

The new faction also comes with its own perks including unique mounts, capes, and more profitable Trade missions compared to other factions.

Caerleon will also play a big part in the new Bandit Assault Daily Event which will happen randomly throughout the day. During the event, factions will lose control of all red zone outposts and regions which will then be taken over by bandits. A massive reward will be paid to members of the faction with the most recaptured outposts and regions during the event. Players fighting for the Caerleon faction will not be able to participate in the event but they can use the opportunity to ambush players heading into the red zones for a chance to score loot from PvP.
