Albion Online Looks Back At This Year’s Mobile Launch, Content Updates, And It’s Ever-Growing Population

It’s been an exciting year for Sandbox Interactive and their medieval fantasy MMORPG Albion Online. And with the new year fast approaching, the studio looks back at all the major accomplishments the team and the game has achieved over the past year in their 2021 In Review blog post.
The highlight of Sandbox Interactive’s year is Albion Online’s worldwide launch on mobile which offered a seamless cross-platform experience that allowed players to take the game wherever they went. The launch resulted in a huge spike in the game’s playerbase, setting a new all-time high of just over 270,000 daily active users.
2021 also marked the release of two major updates: Call to Arms and Lands Awakened. Call to Arms introduced the bandit-style Caerleon faction, reworked the Faction Warfare system, and added new options for small and medium-scale PvP encounters. Lands Awakened, on the other hand, touched almost every aspect of the game’s open-world and is one of the game’s biggest expansion to date. The update featured a visual update of all five biomes, reworked static dungeons, major changes to guild warfare, the new War Gloves weapon line, and more.
For next year, players can expect even more content updates which the devs will be touching on in the coming weeks. “We're already hard at work on the next content update, with some big new features and improvements in the works,” they teased. “For now, though, we want to extend our thanks to you, the Albion community, for making everything we do possible, and making 2021 the biggest year yet in the world of Albion.”
