After a full month of previews, Albion Online’s big Into the Fray update is finally live on the servers. The update introduces major quality-of-life improvements to the PvP sandbox MMORPG, including a visual overhaul of magic staffs, the addition of Portal Towns in the Outlands, updates to Castle and Outpost layouts and mechanics among others.

“New Portal Towns in the Outlands offer Bank and Marketplace access along with visually reworked Invisibility Shrines. Resources have received a graphical overhaul, standing out within their environments and making gathering easier and more enticing. New Daily Events offer bonuses for a wide range of activities, encouraging players to try new parts of the game and shaking up Albion’s economy.”

Another key feature of the update is the new Crystal Arena which gives new players a place to casually hone their PvP skills outside of the more hardcore Crystal League. A non-lethal version of the Crystal League has also been added for more seasoned players who’d rather not buy new gear every time they lose a match.

Players can now also use the “Journey Back” ability of mounts to fast travel back to the last city or hideout they visited. This should make questing and hunting less of a chore by cutting down on the long travel times.
