Albion Online Highlights Hellgate System

Upcoming PVP Sandbox MMORPG, Albion Online, has highlighted their upcoming Hellgate system which is scheduled to release with the Summer Alpha.  Hellgates are areas where the fabric between dimensions are weakened and are guarded by a demonic entity.  Players are able to hunt and kill these entities which will open up the Hellgate for up to five people.  The adventure will then lead them into the fiery hells on a quest to defeat demons.

But what could possibly make someone DESIRE to go to hell?   The developers have assured as that the soul stones down there will be worth obtaining, being used for high-end equipment.

Probably the most interesting feature, is the fact that two "sister hellgates" will always open together.  Although only 5 players may enter one side, another 5 may hunt and find the other gate.   While this might not always happen, when it does... players will have the opportunity to engage each other naturally and wrestle over the resources in the fiery pits.  Definitely something that adds a sense of danger and wonder.

According to the developers, this system was added to encourage small group exploration rather than zerging.
