Albion Online Announces The Start Of GvG Season 12 On March 13

albion online season 10 bannerIt’s time for Albion Online guilds to get their game face on as Sandbox Interactive announces the start of Season 12 on March 13.

Season 12 will feature several changes to GvG activities designed to increase the importance of Territories and Castles and encourage players to engage in smaller PvP skirmishes in the Outlands outside of large battles.

Season Point progression has been slightly flattened between the Outer and Inner Circles of the Outlands, the value of Outlands Castle loot chests has been doubled, and Hideouts now only generate 1 shield after a successful defense instead of regenerating all shields at once.

“While this change makes Hideouts more vulnerable, we also hope to encourage attacks taking place at multiple fronts with this change,” says Sandbox Interactive. “[. . .] Instead of focusing a massive amount of players all at only one hideout, it becomes a valid strategy to attack multiple hideouts at once, because one single successful defence will not negate the whole attempt anymore.”

The developers have also shifted the Fame Buff source from open world bosses to the surrounding mobs. According to the team, this change is meant to “entice players to stay active in the area and create an open world hotspot with a high chance of PvP.”

“The buff will slowly stack up when defeating mobs in the area, but is lost on cluster change. This is to create an additional incentive to stay and fight another group when a group has already stacked up the buff,” explains the devs.

Important dates to watch out for in Season 12 are Invasion Day on April 10 and May 8, Crystal League Final matches on June 6, and the end of the season on June 7.
