Aion Korea to Switch from Subscription Service to F2P

While Aion has been free-to-play in the West for a long time now, the Korean servers of Aion stuck hard to a subscription-based service, a la World of Warcraft, or Final Fantasy XIV.

However, starting on January 17th, 2018, the REFLY update will come to Aion, bringing with it balancing, new PvE and PvP, a new server, and a Free-to-Play model with a cash shop.

This move is expected to bring in far higher amounts of revenue, as it is without a doubt that Aion will succeed in catching more than a few "Whales" - players who are ready to drop hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (or in this case, hundreds of thousands of Won) into Aion's cash shop.
