Aion Classic has hit another big bump in the road on the way to European audiences. Gameforge has announced that it will once again be delaying the classic version’s launch by two weeks as the team works to fix any remaining issues.

The European version was supposed to launch sometime within the first quarter of the year. By mid-March, the developers resurfaced to admit that they won’t be able to make the deadline due to bouts of COVID-19 and flu spreading through their ranks and the need to further polish the game. At the end of March, the team proudly announced that they’ll finally be launching the game on April 12th.

Now, Gameforge is back with the unfortunate news that they’ll have to delay Aion Classic’s European launch once again, this time to April 25th, due to technical difficulties.

“Our team is hard at work to fix the remaining issues as fast as possible, as well as preparing the launch of AION Classic. But to ensure this will be a great experience, we’ve decided to postpone the release of Classic to the 25th of April,” Gameforge announced.

“We understand game delays are always frustrating, especially since many of you, much like us, are already very excited for next week. But as much as we wanted to stick to the previously announced date, we still haven’t reached the level we want to achieve for a smooth game launch,” the team added. “Our top priority is to ensure you will have the best experience possible. This short delay will allow us to apply the necessary measures based on our learnings from the Live migration, which we think will greatly improve the release of Classic.”

Aion Classic first launched in South Korea in 2020 before making its way to North America in 2021, proving to be a huge success in both regions.
