Age Of Heroes VR To Launch On Steam Early Access On May 20th

In the midst of a Kickstarter campaign that has only managed to raise $420 of its $10,000 goal, OmniGames announced today that its VR raiding game Age of Heroes VR is set to launch on Steam Early Access on May 20th. Despite the fact that the aforementioned Kickstarter campaign is currently ongoing, the company has enough funds to create "the core of the game"; funds raised via Kickstarter are intended to go towards development of additional features.

Age of Heroes VR's key features are as follows.

  • Multiple character classes
  • Character loot and progression
  • Raids with multiple boss fights with each boss fight having different stages and mechanics to overcome
  • All heroes have full body avatars. Avatars will even respond when other players interact with you.
  • Single player and multiplayer modes with multiplayer allowing up to five players
  • Built in voice chat
  • Cross platform multiplayer, no matter whether you are using HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or PSVR, Age of Heroes allows you to play with other heroes on another platform. (PSVR support will come after launch)

OmniGames is also boasting its system of "life-like body movement for combat." Players will be able to move around in a natural manner, "[reducing] motion sickness and [increasing] immersion into the game world."

OmniGames Senior Producer YongMing Wang had the following to say about the announcement.

With Age of Heroes, we integrated the traditional role-playing features and first person boss battles into the VR genre to create an immersive and refreshing game experience. We look forward to receiving player feedback in the upcoming early access period and then sharing the game with the world upon full launch.

Age of Heroes VR will be available on Steam Early Access on May 20th. According to the Kickstarter backer reward tiers, it will cost $29.90 at launch.
