AdventureQuest Worlds: Unity, Artix Entertainment’s reboot of the iconic 2D side-scrolling MMORPG, is steadily inching its way to full release as the game’s Steam page goes live. The official Steam page reveals that the game is expected to launch in 2023 and will be compatible on both PC and mobile as part of the studio’s Omni Project.

“AdventureQuest Worlds: Unity is the anything-goes fantasy MMORPG. The game is growing under your Hero's feet as you play. Featuring weekly updates, 100+ Classes, 10,000+ weapons, absolutely crazy storylines, and the freedom to play and be whatever your heart desires.”

A separate dev blog also notes that the game functions on Steam Deck but will require specific adjustments on their part. Those adjustments will presumably come later in the future as they’re currently focused on finishing the core game first.

“We are still neck deep in the process of converting or rebuilding every map, monsters, armor, item, and cutscene from the original game,” said Artix. “This new version runs at 60+ frames per second on pretty much any modern device... and by device, we mean ANY DEVICE. Log in with your existing hero from the original web game, or create a new one. Play with your friends on the same server no matter which device they are playing from.”

Artix Entertainment also announced its plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming game, the details of which have yet to be revealed.
