Activision Blizzard Stock Jumps Higher After Classic WoW Surpasses Market Expectations

Activision Blizzard stock jumped 5% higher today in trading after World of Warcraft Classic's strong launch last night. The 5% move higher comes during a down day in the overall market, and a flat to down day in other video game stocks, which tells us that the move higher today can be attributed almost exclusively to a stronger than expected launch of WoW Classic. The game peaked at ~1.1M concurrent viewers on Twitch and a day later, almost every single server has a large queue to get in. As of 1PM PST on Tuesday, the realm "Incendius", which is listed as "Medium" population, has the following queue to get in:

While 5% may not seem like a big move, for a giant company like Activision Blizzard it means the value of the company increases by quite a bit. $1.875B to more exact. Classic WoW increased Activision Blizzard's valuation by $1.875B in a single day. Not bad.
