The Types of People You Run Into In Dungeons

Dungeons are places where you try to get some great loot but sometimes these dungeons lead you to party with interesting types of people. How many of these have you come across?

The Floor Master

Have you ever had that one person that eats every single attack? Not one, not two, but every attack you could possibly think of. They spend more time on the floor than they do actually attacking the boss during the fight. At some point it becomes better to just let them stay dead because let's be honest, they’re just going to flop down again. The Floor Master is definitely one that you’ll remember.

The Backseat Healer

The Backseat Healer could apply to any class but you see it most often with healers. There’s always that one person in the team that likes to ride the healer’s actions like a mother and teenage child. They spend most of the dungeon reminding the healer that their job is to heal and they may even pause their own DPSing to ensure that the healer really gets it. If you’re the healer you’ll be directed in every form and then probably analyzed when you don’t meet someone's expectations, again.

The Know-It All Newbie

New players are absolutely great. It means the game is still attracting people and that you’ll have even more opportunities to play with interesting individuals. There are times when a newbie isn’t exactly what you’re looking for though, and that is the Know-It All Newbie. The Know-It All Newbie, or K-I-A-N for short, is that one player who has never done the dungeon but treats everyone else like they’re the new ones.

The Solo Act

The Solo Act is best known for their attempts to rush in early. This is the person that you see running to start the boss before the rest of your party even enters the dungeon. Sometimes you may even find them taking aggro of every last mob in a dungeon in order to prove that they’re the very best, by tanking or killing them all at the end—but usually this ends in a makeshift Floor Master. Don’t be surprised if you see your Solo Act re-spawning and then running back in without a second thought.

The AFK Anomaly

Do you ever wonder how certain people say “AFK” every five minutes? There aren’t many things that could require you to be that attentive unless you’re taking care of an infant or baking an intricate dish that requires constant supervision. They always go at the worst times and some even think that they’re closely related to the Floor Master. The AFK Anomaly is someone who we just can’t wrap our brains around and we probably never will.

There are probably many, many more but then we would be here all day. Have more examples? Let us know below!

I've been playing MMOs since the initial release of Flyff back in 2005. From then I've tried MMOs of all kinds and always get hooked to wonderful freedom that they can provide as new lands are uncovered. I still like to explore all the different games but right now I'm focused on Blade&Soul(TW) and Tera Online.
