Grinding Gold In WoW – Preparing For Legion

I am rather excited for Legion, to the point where I'm listing a million and one things that I want to get done before it hits. Making some gold is definitely one of them. As many people are aware levelling alt characters to 100 and getting a full team of treasure hunter followers is great for a daily bit of gold, the occasional thousand or two. But I don't want to be staring at the garrison interface for extended periods of time. This is where some farming methods come in handy.

For Undergeared 100s/People over level 60
Shadowfang Keep is great fun to run and rather random in terms of how much gold you'll make from running it. You'll be farming the dungeon for twink gear. The items that you're looking for are as follows (prices may differ on your server, these are based on mine):
Gloomshroud Armor (100k - 300k)
ShadowFang (15k - 60k)
Assassin's Blade (2k - 10k)
Mindthrust Bracers (3k - 10k)
Duskbringer (5k - 20k)
Night Reaver (0.5k – 2k)
There will be times when you've run the dungeon for a couple of hours and not found anything, which means you're only going to be getting a few hundred gold for all the cloth you've found. It completely depends on if you want consistent cash-flow or large sporadic jumps in gold. Possibly the best thing about this farm is that it requires little in the way of gear. For a while I farmed this on my level 80 druid just for a change of pace.

Killing water elementals in Twilight highlands. This is mostly for Volatile Water which on my server are selling for around 20-30g each. The area to find these elementals is shown below.
Using potions of treasure finding are advised here too, as you will be able to get additional treasure chests and make even more money. As this area can become populated it is advised to download the addon Cross Realm Assist which allows you to hop onto other servers temporarily through joining other player's open groups. Also be careful of players questing here, I've had a few upset whispers for destroying the water supply!

For The Geared 100s
A genuinely fun (and small time requirement) is to farm all the trash mobs up to the first boss in the Heart of Fear raid with a potion of luck. These mobs tend to hit hard, so it is advised that you have some gear before you make the attempt. Each run only takes 2 minutes or so and as the maximum amount of instances you can run is only 10 you'll be done in about 20 minutes. After testing for a couple of hours by vendoring everything apart from the cloth drops I managed to make about 3-4k in 20 minutes. The only issue then is finding something to do for the other 40 before the lock resets!
There are many more grinding spots involving potions of luck/treasure finding, and most are well known. I've included those that are lesser known or allow the player to grind instances so they can be uninterrupted by other players. Personally, I love a mix of these three areas as they are varied and only the Heart of Fear requires a bit of concentration. The main thing is to have fun with it. Set incremental gold goals and you'll have more gold than you know what to do with in no time.
