WildStar's next gigantic update titled Power of the Primal Matrix was previewed in an hour long livestream the other day. So, if you want to know what you'll be getting into next month, and you prefer video to text, you can watch the stream below.
Besides adding two new content arenas, the update will expand player's power beyond max level, add new dungeon difficulty settings (called Prime), and too much more.
WildStar's content schedule is still going strong, despite grim reports from NCSoft back in November. The game still has a dedicated playerbase and it's clear the development team is just as committed to expanding WildStar's universe.

Paragon is getting a new hero named Serath tomorrow and she's a bit different than the kind of hero that MOBA players have become accustomed to. You see, she's a melee carry. Her skill set is built from the ground up to make her excel at closing in on opponents quickly and keeping them within range of her as she takes them down.
Serath's abilities are as follows.
Chastise (RMB/R1) - Serath attacks an enemy dealing damage and applying a slow. This attack also cleaves other nearby enemies.
Heaven’s Fury (Q/Square) - Serath hovers in place and hits each target in an area with a ghostly slash. Each slash deals damage one target at a time, with a delay between each attack. Serath is immune to damage and crowd control during this ability.
Ascend (E/Circle) - Rise into the air and then rapidly dive back down, traveling and dealing damage to a targeted area.
Heresy (R/Triangle) - Serath lets her dark side take over and her abilities now apply a burn effect which creates a weakness aura around affected enemies. Enemies who are burning also take additional damage from Serath’s basic attacks.
Serath will be going live in Paragon tomorrow. You can get an early look at how she plays in the video embedded below.
Last night, I discovered something bizarre. Not only would Terminator be making a return in the gaming scene, Terminator 2: Judgment Day specifically would be making a return as a NetEase-developed mobile game. Okay, I thought, that's a bit odd, but not unheard of. It's an old property that they could be bringing back because of the nostalgia factor. Then I did some more research and discovered that the game in question would be an open world third-person shooter. Based on Terminator 2: Judgment Day. For mobile. And it would have real-time multiplayer, bosses, "strongholds," which I imagine are the game's equivalent of fortresses, and more. What?
NetEase has been slowly revealing details about the game, which seems to simply be titled "Terminator 2: Judgment Day Mobile," over the past few months, the latest of which is information about the game's two—yes, two—classes. The class names translate to "Annihilator" and "Orion." The Annihilator is based on the T-800. It has a weaponized "Thunderbolt Arm" that gives it "strong attack and defense" and stores "huge amounts of destructive Energy." Various weapons can be put in its arm, allowing it to "adapt to all types of war." It largely makes use of short-range weaponry, but can make use of long-range weaponry like "burst bombs" and "electromagnetic whirlpool," as well.
Whereas the Annihilator has a Thunderbolt Arm, the Orion has a "Deformation Arm." Its skill set is more attuned to long-range combat and supporting its close-range allies. The class can make use of homing missiles, a heal of some sort, a debuff of some sort, and the ability to carpet bomb opponents.
You can read more about Terminator 2: Judgment Day Mobile's classes here. A Closed Beta test will be going live on January 13th. If you have a Chinese phone number, you can register for the test on the official website.
Revelation Online will soon be entering another round of Closed Beta testing. On January 19th, Closed Beta 3 will begin. If you're like me, you're probably thinking "again? Am I going to have to start over? When will my progress finally be permanent?" The answers to those questions are "yes, no, and who knows." Regardless, however, this round of Closed Beta may yet be of interest to you. You see, Closed Beta 3 will be raising the level cap twenty levels to 69 and adding an assortment of content for players between level 49 and 69.
The following PvE content is being introduced.
3 new dungeons: Grand Bulwark, Machinarium, and Tower of Pain
Additions to the existing scour dungeons
3 new missions: Adventurer's Guild, Faction Bulletin Requests and Reason's Grief
A new map: Faerie Funland
2 new events: Trivia God & Ninefold Assault
Badges
An assortment of PvP modes are also being introduced, including the long-awaited Territory War system. They are as follows.
Pirate Treasure: Death Island
3v3 Ranked Arena
Death Match
Faction War
Territory War
Merchant System
You can find more information about Closed Beta 3 here. To reiterate, you will not have to start over, as progress made in Closed Beta 1 and 2 has been preserved. Unfortunately, the announcement did not specify how much of the new content is actually in English.
I know what you're thinking; the flip-flopping of Atlas Reactor's business model is getting quite confusing, isn't it? First, it's free-to-play. Then, it is decided during Closed Beta that it will be buy-to-play. Then they add a free trial of sorts anyways, but it's extremely limited and those that don't pay can't take part in ranked matches. And now, according to a Producer's Letter that went out over the weekend, it's going to be free-to-play again when Season 2 begins on January 17th.
Only a few small changes with rather large implications have been announced as of yet. Free-to-play players will be able to purchase freelancers individually, as well as earn them by simply playing the game. They will also be able to take part in ranked matches, as well.
More details about Season 2 and the move to free-to-play will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can find the Producer's Letter in question here.
Star Citizen's community has been snapping photos and videos since the release of Alpha 2.6's Director Mode, and Star Citizen has compiled them into one gorgeous video—thanks to MassivelyOP for sharing it.
Even if you're wary about the project you can't deny the beauty of Star Citizen; I'm feeling skeptically optimistic after watching, and wish I could go explore space right now. Unfortunately, I have to learn some patience.
The Director Mode is a neat tool and I'm happy to see its implementation. In my own experience, communities do a better job at selling the games they love than the developers, because their passion leads to fascinating stuff, especially the shot of the player running through the starship as it spins with a planet in the backdrop. That's some Kubrickian cinematography. Watch it for yourself.
On January 6th, Lineage 2: Revolution's first Fortress event was held. In celebration of this momentous occasion, Netmarble has released an infographic, which was uncovered by ThisIsGame, with some details from the event.
Lineage 2: Revolution's servers each contain eight fortresses. With 120 servers total, there are 960 fortresses within the game. A total of 1868 Clans took part in the event, with the highest bid for any fortress coming from the "Land of Scream" Clan, which bid a total of 33,500,000 Adena.
If the Fortress event's proceedings are translating properly, the weekly event works as follows. Clans bid for fortresses. The Clans that win each bid then take control of the fortresses they won and defend them from other Clans, which can then take control of the fortresses in battle.
During the fortress sieges, there were 310,654 deaths within the first 30 minutes. The "Lucifer" Clan managed to take the "Cruze Swamp" fortress within 48 seconds. The "Yupo Couple" Clan took the MVP title, with one player garnering 165 kills.

Steam has done it again, beating its own record by surpassing 14 million concurrent users for the first time, on January 08, 2017. If you hurry, you can see it for yourself by visiting the Steam Stats page—but the page only displays the last 48 hours.
You may ask, "when was the previous record set?" Funny enough, not too long ago. Steam reported 12.3 million concurrent users just on January 04, 2017, according to Gamasutra. That didn't take long.
The same record broken 4 days apart shows just how powerful and widespread Steam is. Now if only Valve could do something about curation; just because there's 14 million users doesn't mean each one of them needs a bad game to play.
Street Warriors Online Gameplay - Sunday Funday Round 75
Street Warriors Online Sunday Funday Gameplay Video
Street Warriors Online is a free to play online brawling / fighting game with 4v4 and 8v8 matches. Players choose a fighter and customize them by upgrading their attacks and setting up combos. The only other games SORT of like it are Lost Saga, Rumble Fighter, and Zone4: Fight District. It launched on Steam in December, 2016 but isn't very popular. In the video above, the MMOs.com crew (from Omer's perspective) played a couple of rounds, both against AI and against actual players. I don't think any of us liked Street Warriors Online and all promptly uninstalled it. We had some fun with the commentary though!
