Nexon has outlined its plans for Maplestory in the classic 2D MMORPG’s first quarter 2024 roadmap which includes one major update each for February and March.

Early February will mark the arrival of V.248, the highlight of which is a wholesale reorganization of the world selection screen. That will include new server names, server groupings based on playstyle, and a redesigned server selection screen to make it more intuitive for new players.

V.248 will also kick off the Spieglette’s Strawberry Farm event as well as the return of the Gold Richie’s Safe and Burning World Leap events. The studio also teased a new collaboration event arriving with the update.

V.249 will follow in mid-March, bringing with it the profession and character interface revamps, monster life updates, various gameplay improvements, and the Minar Picnic and Grand Athenaeum events.

Meanwhile, the developers are working on the promised Beast Tamer rework which will arrive in May in the form of a brand-new class called Forest Child Lynn. “As the successor to Beast Tamer, Lynn will be able to fight battles alongside her powerful guardians and support their party members with a variety of abilities that utilize the power of the forest,” Nexon said.
