Call of Duty Online Overview
COD: Black Ops, Ghosts, Modern Warfare, and Advanced Warfare cross paths in the free-to-play MMOFPS Call of Duty Online. Play as a military infantry soldier in the war against terrorism, wielding a wide arsenal of guns. Choose from assault rifles, shotguns, machine pistols, sniper rifles, and more, adding Attachments like scopes and holo sights. Complete missions in the single-player campaign, meeting old characters from other COD series such as Soap MacTavish and John Price. Compete in a variety of multiplayer game modes like Death Ray (all players receive a ray gun that has no ammo but overheats when overused), Free-For-All, and Search & Destroy. Add personal touches to weapons with skins. Select different skills called Perks that give a slight edge in combat.

Development History / Background:
Call of Duty Online is a free-to-play MMOFPS developed by Activision, a gaming company based in Santa Monica, CA known for its work on the Call of Duty franchise. In 2012, Activision and Tencent announced a partnership to release a COD game for the Chinese market. Call of Duty Online emerged for Closed Beta testing in November 2012 in China only. It then underwent a series of betas, with the first Open Beta in January 2015.
