Wrath of Athena Shutting Down Next Week
Free-to-play partners Kuuplay and GameGuyz have had a rough time on Steam. After seeing Reckless Ruckus, Magic Barrage - Bitferno, and Wrath of Athena greenlit, and seeing Reckless Ruckus removed, their games have been met with near constant criticism from the Steam community, each of the games holding a "Mostly Negative" rating. This is in stark contrast to the web community, where the games have been hosted on Kongregate, R2Games, and the developer's own site, also receiving better ratings, such as Magic Barrage - Bitferno currently holding a four star rating on Kongregate.

However, it seems that the reception outside of Steam is not bringing in enough revenue to continue hosting Wrath of Athena. As announced on the Steam Community, the Flash-based, Greek mythology-themed MMORPG will be seeing its last remaining server shut down on July 26th. Given the ratings, the claim that the game was "well received with overwhelming praise and adore on Steam" is a bit odd but, even if better reception were hiding somewhere, it seems it wasn't enough for this game.
