Elsword Teases New Character, Ain

elsword-ain-banner

KOG has begun teasing Elsword's latest character, Ain, on both the Korean and North American services. We don't know much about the character yet, but he appears to be some sort of magic user, as there is a magic circle beneath him in the promo art. He is holding a pendulum in one hand, which may hint at the type of magic he uses.

While the North American service's teaser page is fairly empty, the Korean service has an image, embedded below, that appears upon first entering the website. The text at the top says "I'm looking forward to going forward with you," whereas the text at the bottom says something to the effect of "December 7th, 2016 Ain's Arrival," hinting at when he will be released on the Korean service. Some other text, which is not part of the image, links to the three parts of his story, which you can find here, here, and here.

What kind of character do you think Ain will be?

Dragon Ball Z Online Gameplay

Dragon Ball Z Online Gameplay First Look - MMOs.com

Dragon Ball Z Online Gameplay First Look by Omer

Dragon Ball Z Online is a free to play browser based MMORPG developed and published by AnimeGame.me. Like One Piece Online 2, Bleach Online, and countless other Chinese browser games, Dragon Ball Z Online is unlicensed. So far the only Chinese browser game I've seen that is actually licensed is Naruto Online from Oasis Games. Gameplay is very similar to Blade of Queens Online, as it's very likely the two games are built on the same exact engine. Gameplay in DBZ Online is largely automated, so players don't really need to do much of anything to play the game. This isn't my cup of tea, but those who want to play a browser game that doesn't require much attention may get some fun out of DBZ Online. Out of these style of games though, Naruto Online is probably the most polished.

Star Citizen Alpha 2.6 Release Updated To December 16th

star-citizen-alpha-2-6-release-date-update-news-banner

Star Citizen's target release date for the long-awaited Alpha 2.6 has been updated to December 16, 2016. I appreciate the transparency since  RSI decided to make their internal release schedule public.

Keep in mind the internal schedule is an estimate, and does not guarantee that Alpha 2.6 releases on time—you never know what unforeseen bugs or other issues might delay the release. So keep your hopes in check until RSI announces a guarantee.

Alpha 2.6 is a big deal for Star Citizen backers. It marks the release of Star Marine, along with new ships and several Arena Commander improvements.

In the meantime you can check out the latest episode of Reverse The Verse below, a Q&A show where Star Citizen's developers answer community questions.

The Weekly Raid: Will You Play ArcheAge When Update 3.0 Releases?

the-weekly-raid-archeage-column-banner

ArcheAge's big ol' update, called 3.0 Revelation, is launching this Saturday, December 10th and I want to know who's going to be playing, and who refuses to play anything Trion touches.

What's in the update? Two new races (Dwarves and Nuian), five new environments, an alternate experience system, misc quality of life improvements, new housing, and "other."

I never played ArcheAge before, so I will be joining a fresh start server, and checking it out—I'm a sucker for fresh start servers. But I know many veterans are still sour, and prophesying another disaster in the coming months.

Good thing I rarely stick with any game for months.

You can watch the highly dramatic ArcheAge 3.0 trailer below for a sense of what's coming.

Will you play ArcheAge when update 3.0 releases? Let us know in the comments below!

Rocket League's Next Arena Is On Ringworld, Launches On December 7th

rocket-league-space-arc-news-banner

Rocket League's next update, titled Starbase ARC, takes place on a ringworld orbiting a desert planet—my nostalgia for Larry Niven's classic sci-fi novel is tingling. The free arena launches December 7th, and—as always—brings with it a premium battle-car, available for $1.99.

Psyonix also announced that Steam Workshop support will be added to Rocket League with the next update. Crafty players will be able to share custom levels. I am looking forward to seeing what the community cooks up.

Also, soon you'll be able to upvote or downvote which arenas you prefer—"Arena Preferences." Choosing a yay or nay will increase or the decrease the likelihood that you'll play that arena when queuing for a match.

What else is coming to Rocket League?

  • Champions Series IV Crate.
  • Redesigns for the X-Devil and Gizmo cars.
  • New Community Flags and Holiday Items.
  • Color Blind Mode.

Psyonix has done an epic job with Rocket League, and continues to do so. Still one of my favorite recent releases. Are you playing Rocket League?

Snail Games Is Remaking Age Of Wushu, Second Half Of 2017 Release Set

age-of-wushu-remake

With the first test for Age of Wushu 2 scheduled for early 2017, I'm sure longtime fans of Age of Wushu have been wondering what is going to happen to it once its sequel arrives. According to Chinese news site 17173, Snail Games is remaking the game in a whole new engine, albeit it was not mentioned whether the new engine will be Unreal Engine 4, the engine that both Age of Wushu 2 and Dark and Light are being made in. It sounds as if they might simply be updating the old engine, keeping the game's "classic architecture" and bringing it up to modern standards, but the use of the phrase "adopt a new world-class engine" makes it unclear.

The Age of Wushu remake will feature improved graphics, content, and gameplay mechanics, introduced in an iterative manner. The announcement states that the new version of the game "will give an unprecedented vivid visual presentation," incorporating a new cloth physics engine, a new water physics engine, and a new lighting engine that are intended to add a realistic touch to the game. It is stated that these systems "will have extraordinary performance, whether it is the calm surface of the little ripples of the characterization of the sun, or the sun rises and falls caused by light intensity and angle changes." The "martial arts system" is being reworked, as well. It is said that the remake will be based on "actual needs and external recommendations," which perhaps implies that they are taking player feedback into account.

Snail Games plans to launch the Age of Wushu remake in China during the second half of 2017. All player data from the current iteration of Age of Wushu is expected to transfer to the remake. Unfortunately, a Western release has yet to be announced.

New LawBreakers Trailer Shows Off New Map And Role, Beta In 2017

lawbreakers-vertigo

It's been a while since we've heard anything substantial about LawBreakers, hasn't it? Last night at The Game Awards, a new trailer—which is embedded below—was unveiled, showing off a brand new map called Vertigo and a new, as yet unnamed role. The map appears to take place on a structure that is built high in the air, allowing players to freely move around the outside of it in what appears to be a zero gravity environment. Several orbs placed in midair give Assassins a way to easily swing around the center of the map, deftly avoiding shots that are taken at them and surprising oncoming enemies by swinging around and attacking them from behind.

You may remember the new role from my article about my day at Boss Key Productions HQ. It features two pistols, one of which is a stronger weapon of sniper-like power, firing a single shot which can be aimed precisely through the use of a laser pointer, whereas the other is a less powerful offhand weapon of sorts. The role also appears to be able to throw a throwing knife that deals large amounts of damage to the target it hits.

Boss Key Productions has also announced that LawBreakers' Beta will begin in 2017. No specifics were given beyond that, but, given that it was just announced, I imagine that it will begin early in the year. You can sign up for a chance to take part in the Beta on the official website.
